Job Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at the Peter Lougheed Centre. As an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our surgical team.

About the Role:

This full-time, weekday-only position requires a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to work collaboratively with our orthopedic and multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with day-to-day care, planning, and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, and manage patients
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures as needed
  • Contribute to collaborative inter-professional care through advanced practice nursing competencies
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the health needs of patients
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain additional education and certifications specific to the area of practice

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and a minimum of master's degree
  • Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Orthopedic and NP experience is an asset, but not necessary for application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active practice as an NP in a relevant acute care clinical setting during the past two years
  • Connect Care (Epic) and MS Office Suite knowledge
  • Experience in quality improvement and/or quality improvement certification an asset
