Stock Unloading Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to oversee the receiving and processing of merchandise at our Walmart Canada location. This is a key leadership role that requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to motivate and direct a team of associates.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure a Safe and Clean Work Environment: Contribute to a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment by adhering to company policies and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure.
- Prepare and Reset Receiving Area: Prepare and reset the receiving area to ensure a smooth flow of merchandise.
- Unload and Sort Merchandise: Unload and sort general merchandise trailers and complete live unloading of other types of merchandise.
- Delegating and Following-up: Delegate and follow-up on tasks such as pulling pallets of merchandise to the sales floor for overnight processing, stocking, and applying product protection.
- Provide Training and Coaching: Provide training, coaching, and feedback to associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- Act as Team Lead: Act as a team lead by providing direction to CAP 2 associates and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain Cold Chain: Maintain the cold chain for refrigerated and frozen receiving to ensure that perishable items are stored and handled properly.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of associates.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with associates, managers, and other stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
