Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt and storage of incoming products, maintaining the quality of stock, and upholding the standards of the receiving, storage, and cooler facilities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high standard of quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and unload all deliveries from suppliers, distributing them to the appropriate departments and/or coolers.
  • Verify the accuracy of all deliveries, ensuring that all products are of high quality, and report any discrepancies or issues to the management team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by performing general housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and equipment maintenance.
  • Comply with all corporate policies, particularly those related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
  • Provide excellent customer service to suppliers and drivers, adhering to Farm Boy's Service Standards.
  • Handle merchandise returns, including skids and bins, as required.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Superior customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Typically requires up to 6 months of experience in a related position, preferably working with perishable goods.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, maintaining a high standard of quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck and knowledge of receiving/cooler facilities and equipment.
  • Fluency in both official languages is considered an asset.
Work Environment
  • Unavoidable exposure to hazardous or unpleasant environmental elements, such as noise, dirt, dust, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
  • Prolonged exposure to cool, damp working conditions.
  • Providing service to multiple people or departments, working under simultaneous deadlines.
  • May be required to wear protective clothing or equipment.
  • Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be capable of climbing, reaching, lifting, twisting, and bending for prolonged periods.
  • Required to adapt to temperature changes, working on the receiving floor, as well as in coolers and freezers.
