Pet Loss Support Professional

VCA Canada Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and empathetic Pet Loss Support Professional to join our team. As a Grief Counselor, you will provide emotional support and guidance to individuals and families who are experiencing the loss of a beloved pet.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pet owners by offering personalized counseling services tailored to their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals and families experiencing pet loss
  • Assess clients' emotional and psychological needs related to pet loss
  • Develop personalized treatment plans and goals to address grief and promote healing
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and psychology
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empathize with individuals experiencing pet loss

Requirements:

  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Previous experience in grief counseling or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with pet owners or in veterinary settings is a plus
