OCAD University is seeking a qualified Sessional Instructor to teach in the Faculty of Arts and Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and teaching-related responsibilities for the course DIGF-4903: Interdisciplinary Thesis 1 (0.5 credit).
Course Overview:
This course provides students with the opportunity to develop an in-depth, self-determined project either individually or as a team. Students will develop work from a conceptual, technical, and social perspective to an advanced level by utilizing a research and development framework. Open to students from all programs, this course offers the space to investigate and create work that spans multiple disciplines through the creative use of current and future technologies.
Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for course outline development, studio preparation and delivery, inclusive of lectures, critiques, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews. They will also be responsible for health & safety and meeting academic and curricular requirements and deadlines.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant should have a terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional/practical experience. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset, as is demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.
Terms of Employment:
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with a salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. These positions are subject to budgetary approval and satisfactory enrolment levels.
