Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Central Newfoundland Waste Management. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of heavy equipment and machinery.
Job SummaryThis is a permanent position requiring a high level of mechanical expertise, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other technicians to ensure seamless operations.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair faults in heavy equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspection
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve technical issues and optimize equipment performance
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
- Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, preferably with experience in the oil and gas or mining industry
- Demonstrated expertise in diesel engine repair, hydraulic systems, and transmission maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
This role requires regular overtime and may involve working in various weather conditions. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kg) and be physically fit for the demands of the job.
CompensationThe estimated annual salary for this role is $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
