Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Central Newfoundland Waste Management. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical transmissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical transmissions.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory of spare parts.
  • Adjust and repair equipment, including welding and testing.
  • Keep maintenance records and documentation.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a non-smoking environment and will be expected to wear personal protective equipment as required.
