About the Role

At JNK Drywall, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced drywall installation specialist to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring that all drywall installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Description

This is a permanent full-time position requiring 30-40 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drywall installation, with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Instruct apprentices on drywall installation techniques and best practices
  • Supervise other workers to ensure that all installations meet company standards
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster to create a seamless finish
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to prevent cracking
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet customer specifications
  • Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency for optimal adhesion and durability
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim to add a touch of elegance to any room
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry before applying additional layers
  • Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound for a seamless finish
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate measurements and efficient installation
  • Utilize laser alignment system to achieve precise measurements and minimize errors
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
