Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Specialist to join our team at JNK Drywall. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing and finishing drywall, as well as supervising other workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Instruct and supervise apprentices
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound
  • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs as required
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Utilize laser alignment systems
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a commercial and residential setting, with a focus on dusty and noisy environments.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate dependability, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with a focus on repetitive tasks and tight deadlines.

Language and Work Term

The language of work is English, and the work term is permanent.

Hours of Work

The successful candidate will work 30 to 40 hours per week.
