As a Commercial Underwriter at Wawanesa Insurance, you will be responsible for analyzing the acceptability of business risks and providing value-added expertise to policyholders. You will work collaboratively with the sales force to quote, negotiate, and authorize the acceptance of risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business risks using technology and external data sources.
- Negotiate and authorize the acceptance of risk.
- Determine eligibility for policy renewals based on company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions and policy data.
- Communicate decisions and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner.
- Assist with interpretation of rating procedures, wordings, underwriting policies, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years of Property and Casualty industry experience.
- Post-secondary education or related business experience.
- Completed or actively pursuing a Property and Casualty Industry Designation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
