Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Team Lead to provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of system analysts dedicated to supporting the application(s). This role requires a strong understanding of software delivery, application design, construction, implementation, and change management procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a team of system analysts, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the applications.
  • Application Design and Implementation: Lead the design, construction, testing, and implementation of new information systems that support client requirements and departmental objectives.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with application clients, soliciting and trusting their advice on the use of technology.
  • Upgrade and Maintenance: Plan, support, test, and document upgrades to COTS and vendor products to maintain continued application stability.
  • Solution Development: Ensure that the application solutions to be acquired or developed are technically sound and completely address the business requirements.
  • Standards Compliance: Ensure that IMT solutions comply with applicable application standards, principles, and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Lead collaboration efforts with other technical teams to deliver application services.
Requirements
  • Education: University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4 years of related experience in managing application teams delivering development and maintenance services, leading operational support, coordination, and change management experience of the service delivery.
Assets
  • Leadership Experience: Experience providing leadership and direction to a team of system analysts.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise in server setup, configuration, and patching of COTS products, Windows Server, and database principles.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-priority management skills.
Working Arrangements

This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely.
