About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Seniors LINCS Team in the Western Zone. As a member of this team, you will play a vital role in providing Social Work services to community-based seniors, enhancing their independence and function at home.

The successful candidate will work to full scope of practice as an independent practitioner, supporting the development and integration of seniors' health services within healthcare and the community. You will provide collaborative, client-centered care across the continuum, focusing on the psychosocial and emotional well-being of individuals, families, groups, populations, and communities.

This position requires strong counselling and communication skills, as well as the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context. You will be expected to integrate the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health, including the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, and leadership philosophy.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's of Social Work degree, Certificate of Registration and Membership in the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers. A minimum of two years of clinical experience is required, with experience in Geriatric Care being an asset.

Strong knowledge of issues related to family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief and loss, end of life, disability, crisis intervention, caregiving, and continuum of care is essential. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $49.05. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
