About the Position

We are seeking a skilled School Bus Mechanic to join our team at Autobus Voltigeurs Inc. in Drummondville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain school buses to ensure safe and reliable transportation for students
  • Perform road tests to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
  • Complete mechanical maintenance reports and work orders to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs to maintain the appearance of our fleet
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure our buses are always in top condition
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and keep inventory up to date to optimize our maintenance operations
  • Monitor warranties to ensure we are taking advantage of all available benefits
  • Issue parts release slips on work orders to facilitate efficient repairs
  • Organize the workshop, including equipment and storage, to ensure a safe and productive work environment
  • Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies
  • Clean work and wash areas to maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on new vehicles to enhance safety and efficiency
  • Detect mechanical problems and take corrective action to prevent breakdowns
  • Perform any other related tasks as required

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in heavy vehicle mechanics
  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes
  • PEP card (an asset)
  • Valid Canadian work permit
