We're seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Underwriter to join our growing Technology team at Intact Financial Corporation.

This position is based out of our Downtown Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a profitable book of business by leveraging business relationships, product knowledge, and underwriting acumen.
  • Develop and maintain superior working relationships with our broker network to successfully promote achievement of mutual growth and profitability goals.
  • Participate in broker visits, industry functions, and marketing events, travel as necessary, and remain highly visible in the marketplace.
  • Provide ongoing support in expanding the department and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.

Requirements:

  • University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of Commercial Underwriting or equivalent experience.
  • Technical E&O and/or Cyber Underwriting experience would be an asset.
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, self-motivated, and strive to deliver at a high standard.
  • Initiative and ability to work while managing competing priorities.
  • Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
  • Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers.
  • Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry.
  • CIP designation or working towards it.
  • Flexible to travel.
  • No Canadian work experience required, however, must be eligible to work in Canada.
