Senior Estimator - Excavating

Michael Page International Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator - Excavating to join their team. As a Senior Estimator - Excavating, you will be responsible for performing full tender processes, conducting quantity take-offs and cost estimations, and reviewing scope and bid forms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage tender processes from invitation to submission
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and cost estimations for excavation projects
  • Review and complete bid forms to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Conduct site visits and attend bid interviews to gather project information
  • Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible deals
  • Prepare RFIs with clients to clarify project requirements
  • Maintain a tender tracker to monitor submissions and follow up with clients
  • Review production with the operations team to ensure project efficiency
  • Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills
  • Present bid opportunities to management for review and approval
  • Seek new excavation opportunities to drive business growth
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of construction experience
  • 2+ years of excavating focused estimating experience
  • Experience working for a specialist excavating subcontractor is highly preferred

As a Senior Estimator - Excavating, you will be part of a major construction group with multiple arms, including Excavating, Demolition, Residential construction, and Civil construction. The salary for this position will vary depending on experience and seniority, with a range of $90,000 - $150,000. Benefits include an annual bonus, matched pension scheme, and health & dental cover.
