About the Role:
The Transit Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our transit system. As a supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Building and Route team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as you will be coordinating with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Building and Route team
- Coordinate daily work activities, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and verifying completed work
- Assist in tracking employee absences and ensuring shifts are adequately staffed
- Ensure team members have proper training on standard operating procedures and equipment usage
- Manage external vendors, contractors, and OEMs for repairs, servicing, and preventive maintenance inspections
- Prepare and maintain inventory management databases, including sourcing parts and equipment

Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school; college diploma or university degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years' experience in building/facility maintenance, with training or comprehensive knowledge in areas such as building, HVAC, and equipment repair, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Leadership experience in a unionized environment is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with ability to input data, extract, and analyze information
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance and asset management software
- Understanding and application of codes and standards related to facility operations
- Demonstrated ability in leading a team, coordinating schedules, and resolving conflicts
