Job Summary
The Patient Care Manager is a key member of the management team at Mackenzie Health, responsible for coordinating and directing the unit's human and fiscal resources. This role requires collaboration with the Program Director, Medical Director, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of unit plans, ensuring alignment with the Medicine Program and organizational strategic directions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide effective and efficient patient care.
- Manage human and fiscal resources, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing waste.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to enhance patient care and services.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and services.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or other regulated health professional field; Master's degree preferred.
- Nurse Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario or another regulated Health Professional College.
- Minimum of 2-5 years clinical frontline leadership experience in mental health, preferably.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
- Strong understanding of RHPA legislation and its application.
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to introduce and facilitate change, with a patient and customer-focused philosophy.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty certification an asset.
Working Conditions
May be required to work at any site of Mackenzie Health.
