Lead Debt Investment Team

As Deputy Head of Debt Investments, you will provide strategic leadership to a team of investment analysts, guiding them through their professional development and evaluating strategic credit investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend debt investment opportunities to the Credit Committee
  • Lead the underwriting process, meeting with founders and management teams to assess their business model and risk profile
  • Develop and maintain underwriting models, ensuring their performance and accuracy
  • Monitor large loan portfolios, identifying potential risks to repayment
  • Collaborate with the Director of Investments to improve underwriting capabilities through process improvements

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in debt investment, with a focus on large debt investments (£/$2m+)
  • Strong analytical skills, with expertise in interpreting complex financial accounts and business data
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills, with the ability to articulate investment decisions and rationale
  • Strong knowledge of e-commerce, online, and SaaS business models
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to find deals while protecting the business
