The role of a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning at Be-IT Ltd requires an expert to provide financial guidance to management and other faculty members. This position is responsible for supporting short-, medium- and long-term decision-making processes by providing recommendations for financial analyses, budgeting, reporting and forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Studies: Conduct complex financial studies and analyses to make recommendations to management for identifying objectives, planning for the short, medium and long term, setting budget priorities and devising financial strategies for faculty or service budgets, including for special programs and projects.
  • Financial Reporting: Create complex financial reports and help design analytical tools such as dashboards, performance and quality control indicators, and costing models to support decision making and ensure the faculty or service's financial resources are managed in a consistent and efficient manner.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert advice to members of the faculty or service in relation to financial and accounting operations, as well as associated policies and procedures so as to ensure that financial activities are compliant, consistent and comprehensive.
  • Financial Management: Plan and coordinate the budgeting process, and analyze and correct forecasts. Ensure that funds are available and recommend appropriate measures for members of the faculty or service. As the main approving officer, oversee financial operations related to the management of the faculty or service's allocated funds, ensuring that the faculty or service complies with financial policies, administrative procedures and guidelines of the University and funding agencies so that it performs well on audits.
  • Special Projects: Plan, manage and evaluate assigned special projects related to finances, budgets or physical and material resources. Define special project scopes, determine steps, monitor relevant progress, make adjustments throughout the process and ensure efficient communication between participants.
  • Policies and Procedures: Help develop and implement internal financial guidelines, procedures and processes to improve operational efficiency and ensure that financial operations comply with the policies, guidelines and laws governing the University.
  • Supervision: Supervise work performed by employees reporting to the incumbent in order to determine priorities and provide guidance in the attainment of individual objectives.
Requirements
  • University degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum seven years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Professional accounting accreditation an asset
  • Knowledge of business administration processes and practices, including financial planning and budgeting
  • Knowledge of financial planning principles, policies, procedures and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of the administrative structure and governance of a large organization, preferably in a university setting
  • Supervisory experience an asset
  • Project management experience
  • Autonomy and discretion
  • Critical and analytical thinking
  • Knowledge and experience using computer systems and software such as Windows, financial systems, spreadsheets, databases, the internet and email
  • Bilingualism - English and French (spoken and written)
