Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Assistive Technology Department, you will play a critical role in providing consultation, assessment, and treatment services to clients of the Driver Evaluation Program.
Under the direction of the Program Manager, you will be responsible for conducting clinical evaluations, including physical assessments, visual and cognitive skills evaluations, and assessments for specialized driving equipment. You will also provide on-road driving evaluations and trial adaptive equipment as needed.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will provide counseling, education, and support to clients, families, and caregivers. You will collaborate with community stakeholders and advocate for clients' needs.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in occupational therapy, preferably with experience in driver evaluation. You should have a graduate degree from a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy and be registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS). A minimum of 2 years' clinical practice is required, with experience working with older adults being an asset.
You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
Hours and CompensationThis is a permanent, full-time position with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The hourly rate is $33.97 - $42.89, with opportunities for benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.
Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
