Pet Groomer Job Description

Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa is seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and grooming services to our furry clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe and shampoo animals to ensure they are clean and comfortable
  • Clip animal coats to maintain their appearance and health
  • Document animal behavior to ensure their well-being
  • Monitor animal behavior to identify any potential health issues
  • Style animal coats to enhance their appearance
  • Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Conduct anal gland treatments to promote animal health
  • Keep records of animals treated to ensure accurate tracking
  • Clean animal ears to prevent infections
  • Provide flea bath treatments to animals to prevent parasites
  • Clip animal nails to maintain their health and appearance
  • Perform expert clipping on show animals using tools such as clippers, shears, and massage sponges
  • Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals to promote their oral health
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Receive payments from clients to ensure accurate financial tracking
  • Provide clients with information about our services and products
  • Explain the type and cost of services offered to clients
  • Clean the work area to maintain a clean and safe environment
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate tracking and record-keeping
  • Physically demanding to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent oral communication skills to provide exceptional customer service
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and priorities
  • Judgement to make informed decisions about animal care and grooming
  • Reliability to ensure accurate tracking and record-keeping
  • Team player to work collaboratively with colleagues
