Pet Groomer Job Description

Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa is seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and grooming services to our furry clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe and shampoo animals to ensure their coats are clean and healthy.
  • Clip animal coats to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Document animal behavior to ensure their well-being and safety.
  • Monitor animal behavior to prevent any potential issues.
  • Style animal coats to enhance their natural beauty.
  • Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stalls, and enclosures to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Conduct anal gland treatments to promote animal health.
  • Keep records of animals treated to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Clean animal ears to prevent infections.
  • Provide flea bath treatments to animals to prevent parasites.
  • Clip animal nails to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Perform expert clipping on show animals using tools such as clippers, shears, and massage sponges.
  • Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals to promote their oral health.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Receive payments from clients to process transactions.
  • Provide clients with information about our services and products.
  • Explain the type and cost of services offered to clients.
  • Clean the work area to maintain a tidy and organized environment.
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in animal care or a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate records and treatments.
  • Physically demanding to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to interact with clients and staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Judgement to make informed decisions about animal care and treatment.
  • Reliability to ensure accurate records and timely treatments.
  • Team player to collaborate with staff and clients.
