Apprentice Carpenter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Carpenter to join our team at Appenzell Construction Inc.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare layouts and designs for construction projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and steel.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial structures, including wooden structures in various settings.
Apprenticeship Training:
  • Participate in level one, two, three, and four apprenticeship training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the trade.
Work Environment:
  • Construction sites, residential and commercial settings.
Physical Demands:
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Handling heavy loads.
