Industrial Safety and Compliance Specialist

The role involves overseeing daily administration, coordination, and implementation of the project HSE management system, serving as the lead HSE professional at the designated project or office location. Responsibilities include managing the development, training, auditing, monitoring quality, and more of CAM's HSE Management System.
- Developing and implementing effective HSE plans
- Ensuring project start-up readiness and compliance
- Planning and delivering HSE training programs
- Auditing and inspecting HSE processes and tools
- Maintaining quality of HSE programs and process tools
- Managing JSIMS and Incident Reporting, investigations, and recordkeeping
- Developing recognition and rewards programs
- Analyzing gaps in Client, Subcontractor, and CAM HSE program elements
- Managing claims and turnaround support
- Providing first aid, medical, and emergency services
- Purchasing PPE and managing subcontractors
- Implementing Site Security Programs (where applicable)
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Plant/Refinery construction, maintenance, or turnaround
- HSE Team lead/HSE management experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, email, PowerPoint) is essential
- Experience working with Union craft employees is required
- WSIB Injury Claims management knowledge is necessary
- Industry HSE associations, affiliations, and resources are valuable
- Degree – Bachelor degree in safety or relevant field; or equivalent work experience
