Job Overview

This role involves providing mechanical expertise and support to our maintenance team in the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical aspects, including PLC training, thermal imaging, ultrasound, and vibration analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Diagnosing problems accurately and efficiently, and taking corrective measures to implement root cause analyses for permanent fixes.
  • Repairing equipment/parts in the shop, and working with other trades groups to complete project assignments.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practices in the work area and maintenance shop.
  • Reading mechanical drawings and completing work orders in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with work orders and preventive maintenance cycles from initiation to closing.
  • Supporting other maintenance department employees with their job duties as needed.
  • Attending/responding to food process machinery breakdowns in an adequate, effective, and efficient manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial / AB/ ON/ BC Millwright or Millwright Apprentice certification.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical plant is an asset.
  • Working-level proficiency in the English language, with good reading, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overnight shifts, 4 x 10 or 5 x 8 hours shifts.
