About the Role

Munich Re is seeking a highly skilled Senior Treaty Associate to join our team. As a key member of our reinsurance treaty team, you will play a critical role in drafting and interpreting reinsurance treaties, amendments, and related documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treaty Drafting and Interpretation: Draft and interpret reinsurance treaties, amendments, and related documents, including policy forms, LOIs, and pricing files.
  • Business Analysis and Compliance: Assist with general business analysis and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Treaty Maintenance and Oversight: Maintain Munich Re's treaty templates, in both English and French, and document any exceptions to the template.
  • Contract Wording Development: Work with our legal advisors to develop appropriate contract wording for reinsurance treaties.
  • Treaty Log Management: Ensure that Munich Re's internal treaty log is up-to-date, and that any exceptions to template wording are appropriately documented.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Review home office guidelines regarding treaty wording and other risk/compliance topics, ensuring ongoing compliance with home office guidelines.
  • Project Management and Analysis: Assist with general business analysis and project management as needed, including the documentation of internal controls.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Law, English, or similar, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant life (re)insurance experience.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and French languages, verbal and written.
  • Reinsurance Experience: Reinsurance treaty experience is considered an asset.
  • Technical Writing: Technical writing experience preferred.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills and an ability to manage competing demands with little supervision.
