The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

This role is responsible for generating and polishing optical components using CNC machines with 3, 4, and 5 axes. The successful candidate will operate various precision optics CNC dual-spindle technology and axis design machines with strong technical problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup CNC programs; understand CAN cycles with G-code
  • Grind optical components using precision optics CNC
  • Edge optical components using precision optics CNC
  • P polish optical components using both precision optics CNC and diamond turned CNC
  • Inspect and measure optical components to ensure conformity to specified tolerances
  • Perform complex maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Support the design of new tooling and fixtures for elements and equipment
  • Support the development of new manufacturing processes and improve current manufacturing processes
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a diploma in photonics or mechanical engineering technology or a minimum of 12 months of experience in a related field. Strong technical knowledge and capabilities are essential, along with the ability to read and interpret drawings.

Able to work independently and with minimal supervision, the successful candidate must also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. Additionally, they must be able to safely handle delicate optical parts and comprehend detailed instructions.
