Electrical Design Role

We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our civil infrastructure team in Markham, Ontario. As an Electrical Designer, you will be part of a team working on projects such as roadways, bridges, transitways, and municipal roads.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for infrastructure projects, including roadway lighting and traffic signal design.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements.
  • Perform calculations and analysis for electrical systems, including loading, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Generate electrical diagrams and specifications for construction.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and equipment submittals.
  • Coordinate with electrical contractors and perform site inspections.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and 1-3 years of related work experience.
  • Proficient in current electrical engineering theories and practices.
  • Professional Engineer registration is desired.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with MTO and other municipal agencies in Ontario.
  • Proficiency in Lighting Design Software AGI32.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
