About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Marine Steel Fitter to join our team at Avantis Marine North America Inc. as a key member of our fabrication department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Management: Determine the required materials for each project, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Engineering Interpretation: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to plan methods and sequences of operation for efficient metal cutting.
  • Layout and Fabrication: Lay out reference points and patterns, construct patterns and templates, and install fabricated components in the final product.
  • Quality Control: Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications, and perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Work Environment: Confined spaces and physically demanding work conditions are expected.
  • Work Setting: Various locations, including marine environments.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance is required.
  • Physical Demands: Handling heavy loads and working overtime are required.
