Job Title: Marine Steel Fitter

Avantis Marine North America Inc. is seeking a skilled Marine Steel Fitter to join our team. As a Marine Steel Fitter, you will be responsible for installing and fabricating steel components for marine vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine materials required for marine steel fabrication
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan methods and sequences of operation
  • Lay out reference points and patterns for steel fabrication
  • Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements
  • Construct patterns and templates for steel fabrication
  • Install fabricated components in final product
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in marine steel fabrication
  • Basic security clearance
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Overtime required
  • Handling heavy loads
