Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for performing specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for disease and pathology diagnosis.

About the Role

In this role, you will work under the general direction of the Unit Manager for Cardiac Cath Lab, utilizing your expertise in diagnostic imaging to support patient care and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes. You will have the opportunity to circulate and assist during cardiac procedures, as well as perform complex device implant cases in operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for disease and pathology diagnosis
  • Contribute to direct patient care and support in the Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Utilize portable and fixed imaging equipment with emphasis on specialized cardiovascular software platforms
  • Maintain the care and maintenance of imaging equipment
  • Work collaboratively with an inter-professional team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Minimum 1 year experience in general radiography, special procedures in an acute care setting within the last 3 years
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, and transport patients and equipment as required

What We Offer
