Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency department at Mackenzie & District Hospital.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. The RN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Practice in accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of client-centered care.
  • Develop and maintain specialized skills and knowledge in emergency nursing.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain current knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Current BLS certification within a year is mandatory prior to the skills/simulation.
  • Preference for participants who have completed an electrocardiogram (ECG) course prior to beginning REDEP.
