Job Description

Overview

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a skilled Senior Structural Designer to join our team. As a key member of our structural design team, you will be responsible for designing structural supports and foundations, investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving a wide variety of structural design issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Design structural supports and foundations
* Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve structural design issues
* Utilize 3D modeling software tools to generate structural design schematics
* Lead the structural design team in the coordination of detailed design phases
* Participate in the coordination of detailed design phases
* Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members
* Plan and execute structural design deliverables

Requirements

* A foundational undergraduate program in a technical area, including drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience
* Fifteen (15) or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings
* Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
* Experience in the review of structural layout drawings involving steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing
* Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
