Position Overview
Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Identity Threat Protection (ITP) engineering team. This is an opportunity to solve critical security problems. The ideal candidate has experience building, launching, and supporting security products at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver, and support cloud-native security products from concept design to final implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, design, support, and documentation.
- Commit to high programming standards by reviewing code and writing unit and functional tests.
- Work with remote teams and individuals to ensure quality, agility, and velocity.
- Participate in rotations to expeditiously unblock customers and make them successful.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building Java-based web applications.
- Good understanding of design patterns, scalability patterns, security engineering, and object-oriented principles.
- Experience working in fast-paced software development teams leveraging continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across functions.
- B.S. in CS or equivalent.
Desirable Skills
- Experience building anomaly detection systems or risk systems.
- Experience in cloud security, identity, and/or authentication protocols.
- Experience with one or more UI technologies such as Angular, ReactJS, Backbone, and Vue.
