International Education Support Specialist with Japanese Language Expertise

About the Role:
The Vancouver School Board is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to the International Education department. As an International Education Support with Japanese Fluency, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and staff, while ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the International Education team, including processing student applications, registrations, and file information.
- Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and staff in multiple languages, including Japanese.
- Liaise with school staff, multicultural liaison workers, homestay parents, and outside agencies to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and databases using various software programs.
- Assist with promotional materials, meeting arrangements, and correspondence as needed.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 plus one year of post-secondary training in a business or office program, supplemented with courses in accounting and Microsoft Office.
- Thorough knowledge and experience using email systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in Japanese is required.
