The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our Fleet Services Division, Department of Public Works. This is a full-time permanent position that requires a high level of mechanical expertise and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical duties related to the repair and maintenance of heavy and light duty vehicles. This will include diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all work is done in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic
  • At least 5 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy and light duty vehicles
  • Ability to work safely and effectively around equipment
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and take corrective action
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license
