About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Manager to join our team at The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada). As a key member of our Communications and Public Affairs team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications plans to advance our public affairs objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement public affairs content strategies to engage stakeholders and advance our business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, media representatives, and community leaders.
  • Monitor and analyze key public policy issues and trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform our communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate public affairs themes into business communications plans.
  • Write and edit high-quality communications materials, including news releases, social media content, and briefing documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in communications or a related field, with a background working in government, public policy, or corporate communications.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a university degree.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating impactful narratives that effectively capture tone and voice.
  • Strong media relations skills, with experience in media training and working with journalists.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of innovative executive communications plans.
  • Exceptional grasp of current events, public policy, government, economic, and business trends.
  • Solid understanding of social media and content strategy.
  • Excellent time management skills to deliver exceptional quality work under pressure.
  • A team player who can also work independently.
