About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Kamloops, BC. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting, coordinating subcontractors, analyzing geotechnical data, and preparing initial drafts of geotechnical reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical engineering investigations and reporting
  • Coordinate subcontractors to execute assigned projects
  • Analyze geotechnical data to prepare results for reports
  • Prepare initial drafts of geotechnical reports
  • Carry out engineering analysis under Project Manager supervision
  • Occasionally perform materials field work
  • Create proposals and budgets for geotechnical and materials projects
  • Attend staff and project meetings when requested
  • Interact with clients and contractors to provide excellent service and a quick response to their needs
  • Collect soil samples on site
  • Subgrade field reviews
  • Problem solving of project site issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering
  • Registration as professional engineer with EGBC
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams
  • Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Must possess valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites
  • Desire to transition into project management or management position in the future

What We Offer

The salary range for this role is between $80,000 to $120,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
