Job Title: Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team at BDO Canada LLP. As a Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end data platforms, including data architecture, data integration, data modeling, data governance, business intelligence, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of data platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with global data protection regulations.
  • Provide technical oversight and recommendations on current data platforms, extending across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and requirements regarding data platforms.
  • Participate in the Data Governance committee and present proposed solutions to the Technical Review Committee.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, Development, and Project Management teams to support data-driven initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct research and evaluation of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support data platform development.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • ~5+ years' experience in designing and implementing modern data architectures at an enterprise scale.
  • Experience working with ETL/ELT tools, data science programming languages, and data manipulation and visualization tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling principles, data governance framework principles, and data security technologies.
  • Familiarity with standard DevOps processes and experience working in a professional services industry is an asset.
