Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining a well-stocked store, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and comply with company procedures, standards, and policies in all situations
  • Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner
  • Demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with Safeway's programs
  • Stock product to shelves
  • Maintain and build merchandise displays in compliance with Safeway programs
  • Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness, rotation, ordering, and superior customer service
  • Responsible for ordering and inventory control
  • Completion of associated paperwork
  • Ensure proper backroom procedures are being met

  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
  • Possess strong customer service qualities
  • Works in a safe and responsible manner
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged
  • Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)

Physical Requirements

  • Constant lifting of up to 5 pounds
  • Occasional lifting of between 5-50 pounds
  • Constant reaching, standing, walking, gripping
  • Frequent hand coordination, bending, squatting
  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, twisting, climbing (step ladders, stairs)
