Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and reviewing performance to ensure staff are developed, driven, and have the necessary skills to deliver the programme objectives.
  • Develop and implement the business plan for the unit, ensuring the team understands their role in achieving it, and providing context and clarity.
  • Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to deliver growth in organic revenue in the business unit.
  • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction to improve retention and deliver organic revenue growth.
  • Coach and mentor team leaders and service leaders to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to, in order to improve client satisfaction.
  • Produce, supervise, and manage the creation of engineering products on a wide variety of small to large bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction that meet and exceed customer quality requirements.
  • Lead a team to define the problem, establish the work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight.
  • Prepare and check detailed engineering calculations and models, drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates, detailed technical reports, procurement documents, design packages, proposals, and detailed analyses.
  • Provide technical engineering services during construction, including the review of contractor submissions.
  • Perform inspections of existing complex bridges and other structures, including coordinating and leading inspection teams and specialized sub-consultants, providing renewal and repair recommendations, and completing life cycle cost analyses.
  • Lead successful project pursuits, including determining budget estimates and staffing requirements and writing winning proposals.
  • Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and less experienced Engineers working on the same and other projects.
