Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to maintain network integrity.
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access for customers.
  • Analyze test results and adjust, change or repair switching systems, networks, associated equipment, and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Complete and maintain test and service reports to document work completed.
  • Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Instruct apprentices to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Operate computerized testing systems to conduct service tests on customer lines and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent employment with 35 to 40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency.
Work Environment:

As a Telecommunications Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with various locations, installation, and maintenance tasks. You will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel to access equipment and cables.

  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate work.
  • Organized to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Team player to collaborate with colleagues and apprentices.
