Position Overview
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician for Youth to join our Sunshine Coast Mental Health team in Sechelt, BC. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and individual, group, and family counseling services to children, youth, and families, while developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for youth with substance misuse issues and mental health concerns.

About the Team
Our Sunshine Coast Mental Health team is a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of professionals who share a commitment to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the science of health. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care to children, youth, and families, while promoting a culture of compassion, respect, and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
* Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and individual, group, and family counseling services to children, youth, and families
* Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans for youth with substance misuse issues and mental health concerns
* Establish trust with youth and engage them at their level of readiness for change
* Provide screening and referral services, including psychoeducation, family sessions, and parent groups
* Collaborate and consult with colleagues, school personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and optimal outcomes

Requirements and Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Behavioural Sciences or Social Work
* Three years' recent experience providing counseling services, including two years' experience working with youth with mental health and substance use concerns
* Valid BC Driver's License and ability to travel within the region
* Comprehensive knowledge of child and youth mental health and substance use, as well as mental health and substance use services and treatment protocols
* Ability to establish programming to assist youth with accessing school and work opportunities using a rehabilitative approach
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
