Job Description

As a Journeyman Pipefitter, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems.

You will read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements, select type and size of pipe required, measure, cut, and thread pipe to required dimensions using hand and power tools, tack, welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system, install supports, valves, piping, and control systems, test system for leaks using testing equipment, clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush systems, remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems, and coach, mentor, assist, and evaluate apprentices through the employee performance management process to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document, possess 1-2 years of directly related work experience, and have an Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate.
