We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at the William Osler Health System. Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe and effective nursing care through the nursing process, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Provide professional, patient-centered care in a compassionate and caring manner, respecting diverse cultural environments.
- Practice according to infection control and prevention measures, responding to emergency situations and consulting appropriately.
- Teach patients and families about health and provide thorough discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care.
- Recent cardiology experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years acute medicine experience.
- Coronary Care 1 certification required.
- Ability to pass an arrhythmia interview quiz with an 80% score and a cardiology challenge exam within 30 days of hire.
- Experience performing 12-lead ECG and rhythm interpretation within the last two years.
- Preferred experience in care of patients with TPN, NG tubes, chest tubes, wound care, enteral feeds, IV therapy, blood collection, and isolation.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession.
- BCLS certification required.
- Medication Administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior to 2005.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
- Knowledge of patient and family-centered care.
- Experience with patient and family health teaching.
- Leadership and facilitation skills.
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings, 8 hour shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements).
Salary: Minimum $34.26 per hour, Maximum $37.05 per hour.
