Job Summary
BCIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a regular, full-time Assistant Instructor who is a team-oriented professional with broad practical knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals. The successful applicant will provide lab and tutorial assistance across a range of mechanical engineering disciplines, interacting with students and delivering quality curriculum.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead labs and tutorials in areas such as mechanical engineering fundamentals, engineering graphics, HVAC and plumbing design, and manufacturing processes.
- Develop and deliver instructional materials and assessments.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related credential.
- Relevant industry experience in an engineering environment.
- Proficient in engineering computer applications, including strong CAD skills.
- Strong digital literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
