Job Summary

BCIT's Mechanical Engineering department is seeking a full-time Assistant Instructor who can provide lab and tutorial assistance in various mechanical engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering quality curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead labs and tutorials in areas such as mechanical engineering fundamentals, engineering graphics, HVAC and plumbing design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement instructional materials and assessments.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant industry experience in an engineering environment.
  • Proficient in engineering computer applications, including CAD skills.
  • Strong digital literacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
