Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Recreation and Cultural Services department is seeking a Public Skating Attendant to coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the direct involvement of site-specific Public Skating Programs.

Responsibilities include site coordination, supervision, direction of participants, cash handling, customer service, risk management procedures, and general administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Leadership Training is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative/cash handling role and working with the public
  • Previous experience in leading recreation activities and providing direction to participants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated confidence as a competent skater
  • Ability to instruct skating is an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Positive and effective communication and customer service skills

What You Need to Know

  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements, locations may require English only, French only, or Bilingual competencies
  • Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa's satisfaction
