Job Title: Instrumentation Technician

CDN Controls ULC is a leading provider of instrumentation, electrical, automation, communication, combustion, and emissions services throughout Western Canada. We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance team in Fort St. John, with opportunities for camp or crew house accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to company environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with maintenance, replacement, and installation of equipment.
  • Perform calibrations and installations requiring instrumentation tubing.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and specialty tools.
  • Administer advanced calibration equipment and programs.
  • Handle basic instrumentation test equipment and complete calibrations.
  • Work with advanced meter(s) checking for continuity, resistance, voltages, and current readings.
  • Utilize advanced systems such as compressor panels, RTUs, BMS, line heaters, and production facility equipment.
  • Be aware of Gas Detection, LEL Detection, and Fire Detection controllers and sensors.
  • Work on or around live process or equipment, adhering to all safety procedures.
  • Repair equipment with follow-up guidance from the Journeyman if required.
Qualifications:
  • Indentured 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyman Instrumentation Technician.
  • Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid, OSSA Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS certifications.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in various conditions, ranging from outdoors to indoors, in various weather conditions, and working from heights as needed.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol test required prior to employment.
