The Director of Care is a key leadership role responsible for directing professional nursing care for all residents in our home. As a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with a strong background in healthcare management, you will lead and support the wellness team to provide exceptional service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the assessment of all resident needs and develop care plans to meet their unique requirements.
- Collaborate with our management team, attending physicians, residents, family members, and external care providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Manage and supervise the nursing team, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent care standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Manage multiple priorities, including crisis situations, and make sound decisions to ensure resident safety and well-being.
- Current Registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a wellness supervisory or management role.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience as a direct supervisor or manager preferred.
- Medication Administration Skills essential, using eMar system an asset.
- Knowledge of Point Click Care an asset.
- Experience in a Retirement Residence setting preferred.
- Knowledge of the RHA and other relevant legislation.
- Excellent computer skills, spreadsheets, email, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent Customer Service and Leadership skills with a passion for leading a positive team environment.
